The Team

The strength of the Xinjiang Snow Leopard Project lies in the dedicated team we have built. The team includes people with many skills and experiences, all dedicated to the goal of safeguarding the unique species and landscapes of Xinjiang. Within the team we have experienced academic researchers, from Chinese, Uyghur and International; dedicated liaison personnel spanning policy, science and practise with local and national Chinese government and internationally; local community based parabiologists, whose frontline monitoring and community liaison ensures our actions are understood and implanted at grassroots levels.

He has worked in UK, China and Africa and has particular interest in the interfaces between people and wildlife.

Mr Dai

Mr Dai Zhigong

Alimujan

Mr Arimujiang Deyimbaye

Arimujiang Deyimbaye is joint Deputy Director of the Taxkurgan Nature Reserve. As the son of a local herding family he is well placed to both understand the needs of local communities and that of the reserve's biodiversity.

Kometti

Mr Khometti Taklashur

Khometti Taklashur and his family live and work in the Mariang community within the Taxkurgan Nature Reserve. His life long fascination with the wildlife and environment around him led him to seek ways of intergrating this interest with his life as a livestock herder. We are pleased to be able to both learn from Mr Kometti and others like him and also provide them with training and equipment to operate as parabiologists within the reserve.
